Please check out my new KICKSTARTER Project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1403060955/sweet-sweet
Recently, I set-up a KICKSTARTER project. The objective is to personally draw and color children or adults after receiving a digital image of them. This would be a wonderfully personalized way to celebrate yourself or child (or someone else’s child for a birthday/Christmas/graduation gift) in the form of custom ART! Also through this project’s success, I would be able to raise money to get my children’s self-worth books, “All the Beautiful Girls” and “A Boy’s Guide to Becoming a Gentleman”, published and marketed to schools and bookstores!!
| My philosophy | Plant seeds of positivity in the lives of our youth in order to bring about positive outcomes!
It takes a village to raise a child, and I believe that with these self-worth books that I have been creating, I can be a positive, helpful addition to that village; books may be small but they are mighty! After getting these books published and distributed to schools and bookstores, I would be able to continue to make more books in alignment with self-worth, self-esteem and instilling virtues such as: tolerance (accepting diversity), self-acceptance (love yourself just the way you are), self-love (take care of your body and mind), detachment (sharing), kindness (anti-bullying), compassion (accepting other’s differences), etc.
Thank you for your support (please tell your friends) 🙂
About to try durian for the first time!
Not enjoying durian in a not so subtle way.
Taking a closer look at the fruit.
Today I tried durian for the very first time! It’s impressive that I have lived in this country for over 2 years and have gotten away with not yet trying durian; I have definitely been too scared to try. However, tonight, I was forced to try it and…
First… the smell hit me! The odd thing is, I had smelled it before in the grocery store but this time it was sitting right in front of my face and the smell seemed to have changed; I did not like this change. It smelled like something kind of rotten…
Oh man, then I had to put it in my mouth and swallow it!!! Aduh dong!!! It was so weird and squishy. To be fair, the fruit is beautiful: soft and delicate. The flavor signature is an odd one; you either like it or you don’t. I definitely DON’T as you can clearly see in the middle picture!
However, I am so grateful to have been able to try yet another amazing thing in this lifetime. I’m definitely looking forward to the next challenge!
I remember when I first started on this Adventurer Journey. I was tripping all over myself with dreams placed firmly in my hands, running towards the airport gates…
That was over a year ago and things have changed.
Indonesia is an excellent mother. She has taught me a lot about myself and her beautiful land.
*I went back to the familiar and discovered that many things were no longer familiar to me.
They say, “Home is where the heart is” and now my heart resides in many different places.
How to piece it back together again?
