For a wonderful 2 weeks, I visited my amazing family and friends in Virginia; I had a great time. In the above slideshow you will find many pictures of my journey.
The journey to leave Turkey and return to Turkey was quite tumultuous, to say the least! However, I am back safely and with positivity for the future.
In the slides above you will find pictures of the airports I had to stop in in order to get back home (Frankurt, Sivas, Ataturk, Dulles, Norfolk INT’l and Sabiha Gökçen), roads of the bus trips I had to take to get to and from the airports, my family and other precious things that I thought you might enjoy seeing.
~Until Next Time.
Today my beautiful, sweet friend Elif invited me over for some Christmas dinner. We had dolmas, bread, pickles and yogurt. And to drink, she prepared some Turkish tea. Everything was wonderful and the company warmed my heart on such a day so far away from my family.
God bless you, Elif.
As I sit here alone,
I’m taught a valuable lesson
Please forgive me!
As I sit here alone,
I’m thinking of you
As you prepare yourself for the funeral of your mother,
I won’t be there,
Everyone else will be
But I won’t
My eyes grow tired of supporting the rivers that pour from them
I have felt alone before but this time,
something feels different
I have concluded that this time,
It’s not aloneness that I feel, but desperation
That has just learned that
Just like anything else,
Has its costs:
Just as I have had the courage to travel to Southeast Asia alone, it’s now time for me to also have the courage to accept the utterly painful, desperation that I feel right now, during this time of grieving in the absence of family
So, I have started my Christmas Holiday trip and I am so excited! I left Jakarta at midnight and I am now waiting for my connecting flight to D.C. in Qatar. I thought that after I left Indonesia I wouldn’t see my beloved bidet for the 2 weeks in which I will be gone but to my surprise, the Hamad International airport comes equipped with the bidet and it’s even better than the one in Jakarta because it has warm water.
How luxurious! 😉
Come on, USA! Please install a bidet for every toilet in every bathroom! There are only benefits to this treasure! 😀
